Universities

New Zealand has eight national universities offering degree programmes at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels in academic and professional studies.

All universities offer a broad range of subjects for degrees in commerce, science and the arts. Each university has also developed its own specialist subjects, such as technology, engineering, computer studies, medicine, agriculture and environmental studies.

Undergraduate Degree

To complete an undergraduate degree students normally spend a minimum of 3 years. Some degree programs take more than three years such as dentistry, medicine and engineering.

Universities offer wide range of subjects, students may choose subjects according to their aimed degree. New Zealand Universities offer internationally recognized quality subjects.

Tuition fee varies between NZD$12,000 and NZD$19,000 for an undergraduate program per year for international students.

Postgraduate Degree

A wide range of post-graduate credentials could be obtained from any New Zealand university. A broad variety of courses ranging from a one-year graduate diploma, through masters degrees providing a balanced study of coursework and research, to purely research-based doctorates. Master degrees normally take 2 years to complete while PHD takes 3 to 7 years of research efforts.

The tuition fee of postgraduate studies could range from NZD$17, 000 to NZD$35, 000 for international students.
